Chile del Arbol Salsa Recipe

This spicy salsa is so delicious, you might find yourself eating an entire bag of tortilla chips along with it. Restaurant quality salsa in under 10 minutes.

  • 1/2 large white onion cut into large pieces
  • 20 dried chiles del arbol*
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 TB olive oil
  • 1 can plum tomatoes
  • 8 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp salt


  1. In a skillet, heat the olive oil on medium high heat. Sear the chiles, onion and garlic until the flavors begin to blend. Transfer to blender.
  2. Add the plum tomatoes, tomato sauce and salt to the blender and blend until smooth. Serve with tortilla chips for dipping, or slather over your favorite taco.
