At Casa Pura Vida, we are always excited to tune in to the big game- and we love to celebrate our Costa Rican-American heritage through tasty game day food. We are thrilled to share our Wheat Thins Nachos recipe as part of a shop that has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and The Coca-Cola Company. All opinions are mine alone. #GameDayGreats #CollectiveBias

Watching football at Casa Pura Vida is a big deal. Our kids often ask us “is it football season yet?” and when the first game of the season rolls around, we spend a lot of family time cheering on our team. A watch party isn’t the same without great food- but we also try to keep the junk food to a minimum. That’s why our 5 ingredient Wheat Thin nachos are perfect for our football watch parties. These nachos are super easy to prep ahead and throw in the oven at half time, the base is Wheat Thins which are baked, not fried, and they combine some of our favorite Latin recipes (and the secret ingredient of Coca-Cola!) into an explosion of flavor that is sure to please a crowd!

Easy Wheat Thins Nachos

Serves 4

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line jelly roll pan with aluminum foil (optional, but helps with cleanup). Scatter the Wheat Thins evenly across the pan, making sure to cover the pan with the crackers (don’t leave any holes). Layer the meat on top of the crackers, then the beans, and then the cheese.

Bake the nachos for about 10-15 minutes, or until cheese is melted.  If your individual ingredients are already warm, it works well to simply place the nachos in the oven on low broil for 3-5 minutes to melt the cheese. Be careful- the Wheat Thins will brown quickly if you leave them for longer than 5 minutes!

Add the salsa and optional guacamole to the top of the nachos and serve warm. I love this recipe Coca-Cola or Coke Zero- in a nice frozen glass over ice. Yum!

We found our Wheat Thins and Coca-Cola at our local Kroger store (in Denver it’s King Soopers), and right now both products are a great deal- original flavor Wheat Thins are at $1.99 a box, and the 6 pack of Coca-Cola half liters are 4 for $10.00. Make sure to head over, and if you aren’t sure where your local store is, you can locate it here.

Make sure to purchase Coca-Cola and Mondelez products for all your #GameDayGreats!
