California Adventure Food And Wine Festival
Before we visited Disneyland for the first time, I had seen tons of Instagram photos of the food at Disneyland. I wasn’t totally convinced of the hype though, until I tried my first macaroon. OMGoodness- the food at Disney is amazing. So that’s why I wish we had a Spring visit to Disneyland planned!
The annual California Adventure Food and Wine Festival happens from February 28 to April 21st 2020- and since it’s a Leap Year you’ll get an extra day to enjoy the festival this year!
With food and beverage offerings inspired by locally-grown California ingredients- come hungry! The Sip and Savor pass allows you to try up to 8 of the festival offerings, like the Mickey’s Cotton Candy soda. When you mix in the cotton candy, the entire drink turns green!
The California Adventure Food and Wine Festival isn’t just for adults either. The annual Junior Chef Experience is led by Chef Goofy, and aimed at kids aged 3-11. The festival runs in the Disney California Adventure Park daily through April 21, 2020.

Year of the Mouse
Hurry hurry- this awesome event ends on February 9th! To celebrate the Lunar New Year- it’s the Year Of The Mouse- Disneyland is pulling out all the mouse-related stops!
It’s a multicultural celebration of all things Lunar- and of course Mulan will be there! I’m excited about:
“Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession” is a celebratory parade led by Mulan that honors Lunar New Year and dedicates the new year’s blessings to family and friendship. As a special treat for the Year of the Mouse, Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse join the procession in new celebration attire, along with Goofy in his “god of Good Fortune” attire and Chip ‘n’ Dale in their red vests. Talented performers bring dance, martial arts and drumming to enhance the beautifully colorful procession. “Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession” will run several times, daily. (Source: Disneyland News)
“Guests will enjoy four festive marketplaces to experience delightful food and beverages inspired by Chinese, Korean and Vietnamese cultures, including the new smoked beef bulgogi short rib and the peach sojito, as well as many other new and returning favorites.” (Source: Disneyland News)
Magic Happens Parade
Here at Casa Pura Vida, all you have to say is say Coco and we are ready. That’s just one reason why we are so excited about the new Magic Happens Parade this year.
“This parade celebrates the way magic affects both the characters in the stories and the guests who are watching,” says Jordan Peterson, show director for Disney Live Entertainment. “‘Magic Happens’ is like a love letter to those special transformative moments.”
With floats from Coco, appearances by Moana and Maui and of course a Frozen 2 update with Anna and Elsa, we can’t wait to experience the parade this year! Here’s a special sneak peek of the parade.

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance Ride
It’s open and it’s epic. Another addition to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland is the Rise of the Resistance Ride which just opened last week.
A summary from the press release- “Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance sets a new standard for what a Disney theme park experience can be, as guests become heroes of the Resistance in a climactic battle with the First Order. In one of the most immersive, ambitious and technologically advanced attractions ever created for a Disney park, guests launch into space aboard a transport shuttle, only to be captured by a Star Destroyer and pursued by Supreme Leader Kylo Ren as they frantically search for a way to escape the clutches of the First Order.”
