Spanish Safari Language Learning App

It’s no secret that we leverage good technology to create excitement around using Spanish at home. We’ve partnered with so many great language learning apps in the past, from Daria Music to Gus on the Go to our review of the best free Spanish apps for kids on the Multicultural Kid Blogs site. So when we were asked to beta test the new Spanish Safari Language Learning App, created by teachers to spread bilingualism to more kids, we were excited. Now we are even more thrilled to explain three reasons why Spanish Safari is an excellent Spanish language learning app for kids- and offer you the chance to win a lifetime subscription to the app and a Learn Safari t-shirt!

Spanish Safari is intentionally created- by teachers

The app was created by early education teachers and tech people- and the marriage between the two is highly apparent in the app. Each basic language learning concept is introduced in a simple manner, and then reinforced both visually and through audio through high quality interactive activities that kids will like. For example, the first letter sound of “a” is introduced through an interactive game where the child must follow basic instructions in Spanish to complete a task. The concept of the vowel sounds in Spanish is then extended to other letters throughout each subsequent lesson.

Spanish Safari visually captivating

The premise of the app is that the user (your child) will help Arturo solve a world problem on a safari in Africa by using their increasing knowledge of Spanish. Each interactive game encourages the user to remember the language concepts by demonstrating competency through interactive games they either pass or fail. The app took care of all of the tiny image details such as making the people appear in three dimensions, and using vibrant colors in the games to make the experience of playing the game beautiful. Our hats go off to the graphic designers!

Spanish Safari quality screen time for your child

One of the fights around screen time that we often have at Casa Pura Vida centers around the discrepancy between what the adults think is enough screen time, and what the kids think is enough screen time. What I love about Spanish Safari is that it is easy to find a natural stopping point in the game because each lesson has a beginning, middle, and end. It is simple to resume and pick up where you left off, repeat a lesson that the user struggled with, or go back to home and regroup. Additionally, the use of Spanish language coupled with engaging problem solving games and activities allows us to feel good about the screen time that we are allowing.
