Screen time can be an essential way to get more Spanish into your house, and the Spanish kids shows on Netflix are awesome! This post will tell you which shows are the best for kids, and how to access the Spanish language input function on Netflix.

So Many Spanish Kid’s Shows On Netflix!
The number one question I receive from bilingual parents is about watching TV in Spanish. I get it- it takes a village to raise bilingual kids, and technology (in thoughtful moderation) can be a huge help for kids who want to learn Spanish
Luckily there has been a huge rise in access to television shows in Spanish for kids -especially Spanish cartoons! This means kids can learn new vocabulary from their TV shows, and it doesn’t cost much.
This article focuses on shows I have found to watch on Netflix- we find the paid subscription is worth it for us because there are so many movies and tv shows we can watch in both English and Spanish.
There are tons of other resources for Spanish television programming- recently PBS Kids launched a Spanish language channel on Amazon, and our Amazon Prime membership gives us access to Sesame Street in Spanish too.
Even Disney has some great shows and movies in Spanish on Disney+– we love the Lion King! You can change your profile setting to Spanish over there too.
How To Get Spanish Kids Shows on Netflix
In order to change the audio to Spanish (or select other languages), you simply go into the audio and subtitles menu and check if there is a Spanish option available.
Select it- and voila! This, of course, works for lots of adult movies too. You can also allow Spanish subtitles with Spanish audio or do Spanish audio with English subtitles if your kids are learning to read. The possibilities are endless.
Be warned, however- there is no indication whether a show has a Spanish audio option until you have pressed play on the show and go into the menu.
Picture this- kids sit down for screen time and are so excited, they pick their show, and said show doesn’t have a Spanish option. Parents of preschoolers, you know how this ends, and it’s never with the kids quietly picking another show in Spanish (at least at my house).
So- I’ve rounded up a bunch of favorite Spanish shows on Netflix that do have audio in Spanish, and are a hit at Casa Pura Vida. You can use this page to show your kids their options and then go into Netflix to watch- avoiding any arguments! You’re welcome!

Spanish Kid’s Shows On Netflix

Veggie Tales
Veggie Tales is a hilarious cartoon about vegetables who solve real-world problems. This is our #1 go-to show right now- the girls laugh a lot and the Spanish is a lot of fun. The Spanish is FAST- lots of talking the entire show.

Curious George
All the episodes are in Spanish on Netflix, and what I love about this show is that it’s calming and the characters speak slowly. So it’s a great intro to Spanish with a familiar character and not as much dialogue.

The Cat in the Hat
A favorite around here- I didn’t know it was in Spanish until I started doing more research for this article!

Ask the Storybots
This is a Netflix produced show that we haven’t watched yet but looks cute.

Octonauts
Cute penguins rescue their underwater friends. Enough said.

Super Wings
Airplanes deliver packages to children around the world while solving problems.

Pocoyó
Pocoyó is a fun one because it is originally a show from Spain that gained popularity in the US later. So when you watch it in Spanish, you are watching it in its original language- and the animal friends are adorable!

El Chavo Del Ocho
This is a show beloved by children and adults all throughout Latin America. It’s old, the characters speak super fast and in a ton of double entendres, which is hysterical if you are bilingual. It’s on Netflix and I couldn’t help but include it.

My Little Pony
I don’t actually like this show too much in English because I think the ponies order each other around in a mean way- but they don’t in Spanish!

Llama Llama
If you are familiar with the delightful children’s book series, you will love this show in Spanish too!

Little Baby Bum
These are traditional nursery rhymes and songs that are in Spanish -and we love love love this. It was both of my girl’s first screen time show, and we all still love to watch it.

PJ Masks
PJ Masks is super popular right now and I’m so excited to see it in Spanish on Netflix. This would be an easy one to use to start introducing Spanish screen time with ids who are i school- because the show is “cool.”

The Magic School Bus
Who doesn’t love the Magic School Bus? Another favorite of our Spanish Netflix shows!

Tinker Bell
All of the Tinker Bell movies in Spanish are a pure delight!

Lego Friends
The Lego Friends are also a fun Spanish Netflix show- we haven’t watched it yet with our girls’ ages 3 and 5 as Common Sense Media doesn’t recommend it for under 5. I know lots of kids do watch it, however.

Love old movies!
I am so excited to find this! We are adopting a 10 year old girl from Costa Rica. We don’t speak Spanish, but we are wanting to become a bilingual family. I have 3 bios – 8, 7, and 3 years old. I found some songs in Spanish that they love, so these shows will be great
Wow! this is amazing! I am so happy to support you on your journey- what an incredible adventure. I love that you are preparing for her by learning lots about Costa Rica and Spanish. I have another list of sings i Spanish that we love- and that she might recognize too! It’s here- https://www.puravidamoms.com/best-spanish-pop-ballads/
Please do let me know of ANYTHING you need as you transition. And Pura Vida! <3 Christa
This is a great list! One issue though: while these shows have some episodes in Spanish, many are limited. For example Octonauts has four seasons available to stream on Netflix, but only the first two have Spanish audio.
I set up a new user profile (family plan) set to Spanish, and it does show TV series with Spanish content, but doesn’t indicate seasons or episodes without Spanish audio.
Sometimes they rotate the number of season in Spanish, but it def is frustrating when all the seasons aren’t there in Spanish!
